transmission leak

My '92 delta 88's transmission is leaking fluid. But not externally. I found that it is leaking into the engine crankcase. The only way I can think of is through the vacum control valve. I need to know if I'm right or is there another place a front wheel drive transmission can leak fluid into the engine?

Hmm... It's getting into the crankcase? I can see a failed vacuum modulator diaphram allowing fluid to pass into the intake to be burned with the air/fuel mixture, but I can't think of anything that would allow fluid to actually end up in the crankcase. Not to say there isn't one, but I'm drawing a blank there. Check vacuum lines and see if they drip tranny fluid. They should be reasonably clean and dry, since they carry nothing but negative air pressure.

My step dad told me the the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine block can under certian conditions (if loose) let high pressure fliuid leak into the crankcase. I thought he was nuts but I found today 6 out of 15 bolts holding the transmission on to the block were loose and after tightening them and draining 8 quarts of fliud out of the block and put in new oil. I drove the car for more than an hour I lost no fluid in the trans and gained no more fluid in the engine crankcase. But it now makes a strange woring sound when I apply the brakes to slow down. What causes this?

update on this problem. I have driven the car to work for a week(4days) at 34 miles round trip and have had no leaks or tranny fluid transfer into the engine.
