Good morning. Before I purchase new wheel hubs and CV Axle Nuts for my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, what are the correct torque specs for both?
I know I need a bearing pulling tool as well to separate the hub from the knuckle (will purchase that as well).
This is what I put on my Excel spreadsheet (yes, I made one for reference):
Hub bolts: 96 ft. lbs.
Wheel Hub Axle Nut: 118-159 ft. lbs. <-- might be wrong on this and I believe it's only 150 ft. lbs.
Lug Nuts: 100 ft. lbs. (all GM cars used the same torque specs for the lug nuts for a long time).
Do I also need to add anti-seize or medium strength thread locker to the CV half axle assembly before putting the Axle nut on as well? I want to make sure I do this right and the front brakes will be getting new pads and rotors as well for better stopping (ceramic pads and rust-free rotors).
In the meantime, I'll be replacing the O2 sensor again (post-catalytic converter, aka, the Downstream (Bank 1 Sensor 2) as I have a pending code on that (cheap POS Bosch) and fix the exhaust noise from underneath with a flange and clamps or joints to interconnect the resonator and catalytic converter.
