I have searched the form, and have not been able to find any answer's i've been looking for. I Have an 04 alero that is over heating when I use the AC. it seems to be fine as long as I don't use the AC. but being in arizona, with two children, ac is a bit of a necessity...
I took the car into the dealer, who said that my fan motors were pulling too many amps, and fried the relays and that I needed a new fan motors and new relays. They wanted to charge me $1700 bucks to do it. so I decided i could do it myself, and it took less than 230 bucks and 3 hours of me time. I replaced the whole fan unit, and replaced all the fuses and relays associated with the cooling fans I could find.
all this brought me back to square one, I am having the exact same issue as before. The fan on the passenger side spins just fine, but the one on the drivers side kicks on for just a moment when I turn the car on, but then does not turn back on, regardless of coolant temp, and weather the ac is on or not. it seems like quite a few people have had this same issue. I was wonder what people have found to be the cause?
Thank you.
