Okay. You've asked for an Oldsmobile Achieva forum. Well, here it is.. Who's going to make use of it first? Let's get some pictures posted!

No problem. It was the "permissions". Just check the permissions of other forums for an idea how that works...

I didn't realize this until the second time I created my topic, so you can just delete one. :)

Wow guys I almost forgot about the Achieva...

There were many of these over the years and I think it actually replaced the Calis(spelling)....

This would be an N body car such as the 1992-1998 Grand ams and buick Skylark, engine changes in this line of cars was always on the move... You could have had anything from a quad4, DOHC Quad 4, 3300V6, 3100 V6.... There was a quad engine that was used that pushed 170-180 hp in stock format...

From 1992-1993 GM used the quad engines and 3300 V6, all attached to the THM125 a.k.a. 3T40 transmission... 1994-98 either used the Quad 4 or 3100 V6, and all of the 94-98 models had the 4T60-E transmission... Gotta love the history of the N Bodies...lol :)

Looks like not a lot of owners of these cars here. My mother has a 1997 Acheiva SL 4dr that I drive occasionally. I have some questions about the car, but will wait until the site picks up a bit.

Once I get the head gaskets fix on my acheive I would like to post pic of mines. Do the owner in this forum get together and have a meet with all their cars?

I like to 97 models my self. I have one

I need to know the drive cycle of 96 achieva
I had work done to it and now I need to get and E check but the E check people say that the codes have not reset and I need to drive it a while before they reset
So if anyone could tell me how many miles has to be driven before these codes reset
Thanks

I own a 93 Olds Achieva SC and its been an awesome car. I only paid $800 because the previous owner thought it was dying but after a tune up and tranny flush it was good as new and its been the most reliable car I've owned. I currently have the 3300 v6 motor but I've been researching the possibility of a supercharged 3800 engine swap from a Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. According to my calculations it would nearly be a direct bolt up. The 3800 appears to be nothing more than a bored out 3300.

I have a few modifications on it. I know... a modified Achieva, you're thinking what the hell? Achievas dont get enough credit tho. They have potential. Plus the 93 model has no governor ;-)

Currently:
3300v6
K&N Intake system
High-Flow Cat
2.5" stainless exhaust
Dual Flowmaster mufflers
Bosch Double Platnium plugs
9mm wires

Plans:
3800v6 supercharged with Intercooler
Straight pipe Cat
Borla exhaust system

I used to own a 85' Oldsmobile Calais. I guess when they modernized the design, they modernized the name as well. Had the 2.5L Tech4 Engine so I might be able to help people with questions on that...

I used to own an 85' Oldsmobile Calais. I guess when they updated the design, they felt they needed a fresh name. It had the 2.5L Tech4 Engine, so I can probablly help troubleshoot simple problems. A whole 110 HP..... No match for my 250 HP Aurora =)

Had the 2.5L Tech4 Engine in it, so I might be able to answer some easy problems with it, since it was awhile ago. The tech4 Has a whole 110HP.... Could never go back, my Aurora has 250HP :) Liked the car while I had it though.

I owned my '85 Calais Supreme 2.5 ltr U for 2 days when the engine blew just outside Glacier Park Montana. I'd put fewer than 200 miles on it. I bought it from a trusted (?) hometown Missoula mechanic who assured me it would go forever --83,000 mi, body and inside quite nice. I think he took advantage of a nice trusting single female lacking car savvy. I'd like to obtain an image of the calais 85 2.5 engine (only used in 85-86 calais') because I wonder if he might've replaced it with something else. Some sleuthing revealed that the previous owner had driven it 50 miles before the engine blew (he got 50 bucks from my mechanic who told him he intended to part it out.) Sound fishy?
I like the car and yet am resigned to having to let it go for scrap. Any ideas?
[forgive me, if this post is inappropriate. It's my first.]

need quick answer

does anyone know how big the fuel tank is in a 1993 olds achieva??

97 achieva

does anyone check this thread anymore? i need to know if the achieva's manufactured in 97 can have there governor removed? i've found chips on the net for many years, before 97 but none for the 97 model. it has a 3100 V6 model engine, any ideas?

calis brake problem

the rear wheel cylinders on the calis are secured by some sort of spring clip. How do you install these-hard to get the clip installed!! also =how are the rear shoes adjusted?? there is NO Access hole in the backing plate.
