I have a 1997 Olds 88, When I changed the oil and filter (I used 10W30 Castrol) I put some seafoam in with the oil and ever since then it has been making a big cloud of blue smoke when I start it up. I changed the oil again and it started smoking again in a few days. It seams the longer it sits the bigger the cloud. I have to put about one quart in it a month. It was also skipping a little and the check engine light came on. I took it to Auto Zone and they said it was a cylinder four missfire. I changed the spark plug in cylinder four and the one I took out had black stuff on it and oil in the threads. I'm guessing the black stuff was burnt oil. I don't know how the oil is getting in there or if the seafoam had anything to do with it. Can anyone help?

Generally, oil smoke on startup is caused by worn valve seals. It's not enough leaking in to smoke all the time, but when it sits for a while oil will drip from your heads into the cylinders and burn off when you start it.
My '93 88 has done this for a while now. It's not a serious problem, besides having to replace spark plugs and having to add oil more often than usual.
