Odd "quick" release on fuel filter

I'm trying to change the fuel filter on my 99 Alero and I've ran into a problem with the "quick" release side. The filter I bought has plastic release tabs, so does the videos I've seen on youtube and every other reference I can find. However, mine doesn't seem to have one and nothing I've tried can get it to release. Any ideas how to get it off?

Can't help you. And you are right, it's an odd duck set for the Alero

There are two different types of clips for this. If you watch enough YouTube vides you will find one that shows both types.
