Keyless Entry Quit Working

Both of my keyfobs are intermittently working. Battery in the key fobs are good. The solder joints are good on the battery holder. I tried resetting the fobs by holding the lock and unlock together for 7 seconds as the manual suggests. It seemed to work for a while, then quit again.

I know its possible that I have two bad key fobs, but is there anyway to test this theory prior to buying a new key fob and spending money to have it programmed?

Where is the module located that controls the lock /unlock / trunk / panic alarm?

2 different Remote Control receivers at least, see my movie for drawings & pictures.

Situation with working & not working FOB's comes as soon as the FOB cases are damaged and not closing for 100% anymore>
That gives faulty contacts to knobs and also the battery.
But new empty FOB case than. Also big problem is buying new batterys which are to old.
