My heater barely blows any hot air out at all. The drivers side gets a little hot air and the passenger's air is cold and hardly comes out. Any ideas as to the problem. I found this from AutoZone:

Problem: Little or no heat

Most common causes: Plugged heater core; low coolant in the radiator; the blend door inside the dash is out of adjustment or broken; hot water shut off valve is stuck in the off position

I have plenty of coolant. How do I check the other possible issues? Thanks I am clueless!

Sincerely,

Very cold Nebraskan.

Pull the blower motor out and check the A/C evaporator core to be clogged with dust and crap. Try to clean it with compressed air and brake cleaner, maybe a shop vac.

Alot of the time the A/C evaporator will leak oil and cause dirt to get stuck to it.

Go for the electrical motor controlled " blend door inside the dash is out of adjustment or broken". The blend motor is part of and controlled by the "A/C heater module". If your car has a BCM then their is a Code for it. ("Commanded Blend Door" VS "Actual Blend Door").

(Your car should not have any coolant valves toward the heater core anymore, they are just open pipes. I.e. heater core temp = coolant temp)

P.S. I have a problem like that, however I've "promoted" that one to "summer car". :D

It could be many things.

Is your engine reaching the correct operating temprature?

Is the blower motor working, i.e,:

Can you hear it?

Is any air coming out of the vents or lower outlet?

Engine temp seems normal. New rad and fluid recently (after the heater was already not working). I just today finally located the blower motor so I'll have to see if I can hear it. There is air coming out of the vents and lower outlet.

PS, I was wrong the blower motor is near the firewall inside the engine bay not inside the passenger compartment.

If you have air blowing hard out of the vents and you can control the air speed with the fan switch it is not likely the blower or a duct problem. If your engine is reaching the proper operating temprature (meaning the coolant is HOT), you may have a blockage that is stopping coolant from getting to your heater core. I recently had this problem. It was solidified anti freeze packed in an oraface in one of the steel coolant tubes.

I turn it the fan up high and it sounds like its blowing a lot more than it is. It does blow more the faster I run it but only a tiny bit more.

It was the actuator blend door. It got replaced and not works swell.
