 We are trying to replace the fuel pump in my car (1992) delta 88 and I would like to know if there is a way to access it from through the backseat or the trunk? there is not enough fuel line to move the gas tank to the side enough to drop it down and we can't drop it straight down because the exhaust is in the way :( Help!?

I just did this on my 90 88

There should be to holding brackets that holds the the exhaust up (in rear) once these are removed you should have no problem dropping the exhaust. once you drop that remove the heat sheild (follows length of exhaust) disconnect all the fuel lines running to engine (these are the easy lines). Now start dropping gas tank. To get access to the filler neck hose you may need to remove the rear tire! (it sucks!) Once the hose clamps are loose or off you have to man handle the tank and it will drop!!! I hated doing this!!!!!

This may be too late.... and maybe you have already found out as of 1987 I believe there is an access panel under the back seat bench.... just for the purpose of replacing the fuel pump.
