Picked up this 1999 Oldsmobile Alero with a known bad motor for $800. Found a clean 3400 or 3.4 Liter Engine / motor from a junkyard for $500. Oil was good and the donor car, a Grand Am, was obviously hit. Meaning it ran when it was wrecked (in the back). Spent another $200 on a new intake manifold gasket, oil, antifreeze, silicone, an eBay front bra and misc stuff. So, I got @ $1500 in this car. Replaced the intake manifold gasket and applied silicone to each side where the sealing area is. Know these engines are natorious for leaks so I ensured a seal that should last indefinitely.
