I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The front turn lights are coming on, but won't flash when I signal to the left or right. The rear turn lights will flash however. The ground wires have been checked and cleaned as has the battery and the park fuse. Any suggestions would help. I've taken it to a shop and they couldn't find a reason either and I'm loathe to take it to a dealer unless necessary.

Blinkers from hell

Not to drag you down, but blinkers gave me on-going problems in my '99. Probably time to find a new technician if they can't find the problem.

The hazard button has some electronics behind it, that will click when the lights are blinking, but since you have tail blinkers you should already be able to see that.

There are some side turn lights (that are clear and stay on continuously) that look like they are in the position of regular turn indicators. The actual turn indicators are the two most central lights at the front of the car, and are day time running lights when not being blinkers. They have a clear lens in front of them but have yellow bulbs.

I ended up replacing the hazard button, the DRL (daytime running lights) module as guess' and only resolved the problem when a mechanic replaced the column switches. Hope yours is easier and less expensive.
