I recently purchased a 1998 Bravada AWD. The transmission will not shift past 2nd gear and the speedometer is not working. We have replaced the speed sensor hoping that it would fix the issue, but it did not. However, after replacing the speed sensor, it was easier to get it going forward or backwards whereas before it was not. What other problems could make it act this way besides the Transmission? I have read a few things, one says the shift modulator could be the reason why the transmission is not shifting properly? Also, could the AWD cause an issue like this? The reason I ask is because the AWD light is on.
One more thing, the transmission does not seem to be messed up because there is no burnt smell in the fluid and the fluid is the proper color. Before this causes the transmission to go bad, please help!
