Hello,
I have 91 oldsmobile 88. Every now and again, the engine stalls while driving. It seems to happen only on humid days. And it also seems to happen when I've been driving, then stop for a while. Last year, I disconnected the EGR valve at the electrical connection because I thought it was causing the problem. It did seem to help, but now it's happening again.
Oh and the egr is still disconnected. I assume this thing only improves mileage, and isn't really necessary. If it sticks open while the engine is idling, then that would make it stall.
I've heard that crank and cam sensors can also cause this problem. Does anyone have an opinion?
Thanks,
Pat
