I have a 1968 442 that has an E code motor out of a 66-67. I know these are highly sought after and I'm looking to get rid of it and put a newer built motor in it. It runs damn good and is hooked up to a 4 speed transmission. I can provide pictures or videos of the motor running and the E code stamp to serious inquiries. It'll go to the highest offer. Thank you for reading

95 Cutlass 3.1ltr. Just refilled the refrigerant. Is the compressor suppose to cycle or stay on all the time? Thanks.

Yea it's a Ciera. Has the "cavalier " type system. So why isn't it cycling then? Or how long after the air is turned on is it suppose to start cycling? Within a minute or two? Thanks.

The compressor not cycling could be many things. If on the coldest setting, especially on a warm day, it may stay on the whole time the climate control is on to try and keep up with what is demanded. Cycling may only occur when you turn up the temp, when one minute you may need cooler air than the next to keep the cabin temp as desired. This is why I originally thought your car was low on refrigerant before you refilled it, because it could cause the A/C compressor to act in a similar way in it cycling while running. And, depending on the climate control settings, it could take some time for it to cycle if that is what it needs to do to regulate temp, like cooling it down originally if it's hot in the car from sitting in the sun. Bottom line is that if the compressor hasn't been hardwired to stay on permanently and the A/C blows cold as it is now, I really wouldn't worry about it too much.

Good enough......thanks for the help!

I have a 1990 Olds 88 Royale which uses the CCOT.

Let me quote the service manual: The cycling clutch orifice tube (CCOT) system is designed to cycle a compressor on and off to maintain desired cooling and to prevent evaporator freeze. Control of the refrigeration cycle is done with a switch which senses low side pressure as an indicator of evap temperature. The switch is the freeze protection device in the system and senses pressure on the suction side of the system. As the compressor reduces pressure to 25psi the switch will open, de-energizing the clutch. As the system reaches 46psi the switch re-energizes the clutch.

The CCOT system is used on both manual and electronic climate control systems. Unplug the switch (mounted on the receiver/dryer) to be sure the circuit opens and the clutch de-energizes. The switch can be easily replaced because there is a Schrader valve on the receiver/dryer that prevents discharge of the system when the switch is removed.

This may not apply to non-CCOT systems, but perhaps will help someone.

I am wondering if the Fel-Pro Rear main seal part # BS40013 is compatible on my 1970 350 Oldsmobile engine. I am getting different answers from several websites.
