Hi ,

I had some problems with my Olds 88 (1996) today. When I turn the ignition key all I get is a click sound. The car will not start. I would really like to find out the location of the starter. I also would like to find out if the wiring of the starter is connected directly to the battery post as the posts are corroded. I removed both the posts and cleaned out the ring terminals. Not sure if I was able to make proper connections. I also tried giving the car a boost but was unsuccessful. Any thoughts or advice????

Urgently needing help.Thanks.

For starters, the starter is located directly south of the olds symbol just behind the air ram, it is attached directly to the chassis of the car, if memory serves me correctly. Yes the starter is connected directly to the battery. I hope this helps you.
