Hey everyone, so my dad has a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS 3.5L and recently it has been giving us an unusual problem. From what i was told, it went over a speed bump really fast and he heard a bang on the bottom. Ever since, I've noticed a few things.
1. When tranny is in Drive, and the brake is applied, you can feel some slight to moderate vibrations (almost like being inside a muscle car)
2. When i switch from reverse to drive or vis-versa I hear a clank noise.
3. when I'm accelerating, the engine has a lower sound to it and has a longer acceleration delay.
4. When I start the car it makes a small clank noise right as the engine turns over.

My dad thinks an engine mount might be loose if not broken, because the vibrations mentioned in 1st issue seems to be increasing at a low pace. maybe others have had a similar situation? any help would be much appreciated.

open the and watch the motor as you put it in gear drive & reverse ( with the motor running) you should be able to see the offending mount

heres a thought--jack it up on flat surface, secure w.jackstands&get ur azz under it!

No offense, I'm just saying if it were me I'd already be under the car with my badazz smartphone camera, the camcorder with flash on it lights up everything,so even though I'm just a girl,I find that doing that means I can get out from under the car&watch the video of my visual inspection&pause it wherever to either rule out,or confirm any trouble areas. Good luck&don't forget2update. The suspense is killing me! I recently removed a gas tank for nothing when a leak all day was dripping off a dented area of the tank from running over median. After all that, it ended up being motor oil gallon jug cap coming lose in trunk after I drove with dirty oil for proper disposal in the trunk,I knew I shouldn't have put it in there til I was ready2go straight2dispose of it!
