Need Help

I have a 1989 delta 88 royale brougham 3.8ltr 440 T4 tranny. I've had some posts on this forum with no help or advice yet about this subject. I have a digital dash and the selecter stays on over drive only. Shift into reverse or park or any other and still stays an OD. I believe i'm haveing some related problems that are just starting to occur. The car is haveing trouble starting now. Turn the key and nothing not even a click. I mess with the shifter and turn the key sometimes it fires right up. It has a new starter and battery, the cables are good. I'm stumped. Just bought the car for real cheap and don't know much about it yet. Any out there who can help me out ?

neutral safety switch. on top of transaxle follow the shifter cable and it
will lead u to it. it has a flat plug with 3 to 6 wires. replace it. u will fix it
