A recent passing has moved ownership of a car that should have been worked on years ago and is now rusting away. It’s all numbers matching original, but condition is poor. I’d like an idea of what I should be expecting on a price. Thank you for your advice in advance.

You are correct, it is really rough. Just as a reference, I bought a '69' 442 convertible in less than good condition. The motor didn't run. It had sat for quite a few years without antifreeze so the block froze and cracked. There's some rust at the bottom of the front fenders. both sides have lots of small dings and dents. The top needs to be replaced. The bumpers need to be repaired and re-chromed. The interior is salvageable. I paid $2,500 10 years ago. It's probably worth 6k to 8k today.

From what I can see this one needs a new hood. The front fenders may be repairable if patch panels are available otherwise they need to be replaced. Finding replacement trim pieces is extremely difficult. I can't see the interior but I can only assume that it needs a total refurbishing. More importantly, the chassis. You'll probably want to upgrade to disk brakes, The front A-arms are replaceable. If the frame has damage or rusted out from sitting on the ground for so long it may need loads of work or replaced. Basically what you are buying is a shell and a title for a 442. In my opinion, I would value it at 1k to 1.5k and that's being generous. Good luck.
