Hi I need help!
MY oldsmobile model 88 from the year 1994 has a problem.
When I star the engine all of the sudden the car stars like to shake and finally goes off. It looks like an electronic problem. So I turned it on again and it keeps doing the same... I can drive the car but at any moment just shut down and I have to restarted again.

Any comments?

im not TOO sure, but i think ill take a guess at it, i would reset the computer, disconect the NEGATIVE battery cable for 20minutes, see if it goes away, i had the porblem once, it was my PCM giving the fuel injectors false information

Ive had a similar problem with my 88 Toronado Trofeo, but its after I turn. For example if i start the car and then try to bck out of a parking spot. I believe I am just overloading the power steering and that cuts the engine, something like that I dont know that much about cars so...if your problem is similar then dont lock your wheel...

I had the same problem but it only happened when it was hot, and it was hot outside. I could be driving along and the engine would turn off. They replaced the engine speed sensor and the problem was gone.

yes my bet would be speed sensor, but i would also disconect the neg cable for like 10 min

good luck and let us know if this help's

Hey Guys,

I just stumbled upon this, but for you who just mentioned your car dies after pulling out of a parking spot etc.... GM put out a TSB concerning that problem word for word, the fix...replace all 6 injectors with ones that have a different pulse when the vehicle is under a load with the throttle closed (no gas pedal useage with power steering pump working hard)
