fuel tank

My husband just replaced the fuel filter in my 95 delta 88. The problem is that we seem to still have a gas leak on top of the tank. He took the tank down a second time to make sure the o ring was in place, that is fine but still leaking, only when running. does anyone know what else we can try?

Did he replace the fuel filter or the fuel pump? The fuel filter isn't on or in the fuel tank, so I am confused as to why he had to drop the tank. If he did drop the tank, my guess would be that it's one of the lines that is leaking, not the seal from the tank to the fuel pump assembly. My reason for saying that is that when your car is running, the pump pressurizes the fuel in the fuel line, but the tank is not under pressure. Therefore, there would be no reason for the tank/fuel pump assembly seal to be leaking while running but not while not running. See what I mean?
