98 aurora brake light trouble

my center brake light went out last week, replaced the bulbs, still nothing. now my right side brake light goes out but when i restart the car, it works again...? I've heard horror stories about these cars when it comes to electrical issues. the car only has 86k on it, so i hope its not gonna start falling apart on me now. anyone know what might cause this? thanx for any help

Could just be a bad bulb, or the socket all gooped/aged(corroded) up. Ohmmeter the bulb, and voltmeter the socket. Have a friend "wiggle test" the harness from the rear while you confirm good volts at the socket.
