Alero cruise button won't stay 'on'.
Some guys are worried about how things 'look'. I myself don't always care.
This fix has lasted for 20 years!
The dealer wanted $500 or something. NOT!
We use a little girls hair elastic tie; this one happens to have a pink bear on it. When you stand the bear up (very easily done) it applies just the right amount of pressure to keep the switch 'on'. When you push the bear over, the switch turns off. Don't have to jam anything in there and leave it always engaged. We call it the $500 bear.
I will shoot a picture of it the next time in the car.
It has lasted for 20 years. That must say something.

It's easy enough to just replace the switch. Then turn it on. Then leave it on. Any new one is going to be just as bad and will also break after a few uses. The light is on all the time when the car is running. Mine has been like this for years.
