Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for help on how to remove the supercharger snout to get to the coupler on my Olds. Has anyone done this work themselves successfully? I'm looking for a step-by-step / video on what to remove to access the snout bolts. It's not as easy as it seemed when I first started the job.

The issue I'm having is that I can't even get access to the snout because the steel part that the alternator, power steering pump, and tensioner pulley are bolted to is in the way. I didn't think to take a close-up photo when I was doing the work last weekend, but I could do that if it would be helpful.

I have the L67 Series I (Gen 3) supercharged engine. The reason for wanting to replace the coupler is the infamous "gravel in a barrel" noise I've been hearing for a while. I have all the parts I need, and I'm trying to do the work myself to save money.

I've searched this forum for this topic with no luck, and I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere online. The few videos that pop up on youtube show a coupler replacement for a different series of supercharger that apparently has an easier access configuration.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Easy Fix

Cold Olds sorry about the delayed response. Replacing the coupler is an easy fix, Once you get the nose of the supercharger off just pull the coupler off and slip the new one on. make sure you clean the old silicone or gasket off real good and put a bead of silicone on and put the nose back on and tighten it in sequence. then fill the supercharger up with new fluid and your good to go. Easy Fix....
