1990 oldsmobile 88 headlight

My father in law hit a deer with his 1990 88. It needs a passenger headlight. To me it looks like 87-90 olds 88 headlights should be compatible but a parts locater on the internet says that 1990 was different from 87-89. I've heard the same thing from a mechanic. Can anyone confirm this and would a 98 headlight work?
