Olds 98 Supercharger question

I'm working on My Dad's 92 Oldsmobile 98. It has the 3800 supercharged engine on it. This was his baby until it was rear ended 10 years ago while sitting in front of some friends place by some kids doing shit hooks on the street. He had started to restore it this past fall, all the bodywork was done on it this past December. He died on Christmas-eve of a heart attack. He had no previous health problems of any kind, and he was relatively young (59). It caught us all completely by surprise. Anyways I want to finish this car as a sort of keepsake. The supercharger on this thing is noisy. I've seen lots of them for sale on ebay for not a bad price, but most of the ones I've seen are from newer models. I'm just wondering if the supercharger from the Newer Olds/Buick/GTP's is compatible with the 92's. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I had question recently on my oldsmobile and my local buick Dealer parts department was very helpful looking into cross ref. part numbers and getting me the name of a out of state dealer that had stock.

If you called your buick parts counter or stopped by and told them your idea about restoring your dad's car I will bet they could help you. Some parts are direct swaps.
Others may have missing mounts for brackets or sensors that may not work correctly.

Good Luck.

No it is totally different, If it is a rattling noise it is usually the coupler which is a very common problem. The part is cheap and it is an easy fix.
