Cooling Fan

I have a 1989 Old 98 3.8L. The radiator cooling fan is not coming on, I confirmed the relay and fan are good.
Is there a temp sensor that controls the fan or does it get the signal to turn on from the ECM via the ECT sensor?

Thanks!

The cooling fan gets its signal to operate from the ECM. The ECM energizes the low and high speed relays to make the fan come on.
The ECM gets a signal from the coolant temp sensor.

I'd suggest you start with checking the coolant temp sensor---it's the cheaper one to check. Also make sure your thermostat isn't sticking open---if it's not reaching operating temperatures, the fan may not come on.

Thanks! Got it replaced and fans are working again
