93 Achieva wont start

Going to work on a car for a friend. Here is what I know.

93 Achieva 4 cyl. My guess would be automatic tranny.

Car will turn over but won't start. It's getting gas to the cylinders as the plugs come out smelling like gas but no fire. I have not got my hands on the car yet to do more trial and error. Any suggestions for where to start looking when I get over there to look at it?

Thanks in advance, Doug B.
