98 Electrical Issue, Multifunction Switch Contact Cleaning

I have a 98 Aurora and have an issue where the parking lights flicker occasionally when the light switch is off. It's started when the engine was off and another time when the engine was on. Turning the light switch onto parking lights or full parking lights stops the flickering but starts again when switched to off. A buzzing noise can be heard from the dash somewhere.

Research online points to a defective light switch (which is no longer available).

Can anyone confirm this is the issue?

There's a circle of holes on the top of the switch, near the arm. To clean the contacts, is it ok to add some contact cleaner in those holes?

Miss that Olds 442? Believe it or not, Kia may have something for you. The Kia Stinger is a large sport-oriented hatchback sedan in the mold of the Audi A7.
