01 Bravada Smart Trak AWD problems

Well, I first want to say thanks to all for any input. I got this 2001/Bravada from my father-in-law and it had aa issue with the battery dying. Swore it was a starter, so replaced and all has been good...so I thought...the Service AWD has always been on since I got it. I figure it's a encoder motor or possibly a TCCM...don't have access to a Tech 2 scanner. I replaced the starter and all has been well with the dead battery, until the other night...I pulled fuses the 4x4 fuse and the ATC fuse under the hood...now I got the clicking noise back apon startup. Itsx coming from the glove compartment area so I'm sure it's the TCCM...my wife told me that was the noise it would make when they were having the dead battery issues...it hasent clicked after having the battery out for a few months and then replacing the starter. But now, after resetting the system by pulling fuses I get the clicking before and after starting...like 5 quick clicks...but battery hasent gone dead yet so it might have been that pesky starter.

I'm THINKING its a encoder motor. I do intend to empty and refil defs with the newer GM Auto Track II fluid when I replace this encoder or pay to get a scan done one it...but is the clicking from the TCCM normal? Was thinking on taking out the TCCM and making sure contacts are clean. Lil dia grases on em.

Any suggestions...love the truck, except for ALL the options it has on it...just more things to go bad...buy I need some type of 4x4 here in Ohio...lots of snow coming.

PS - sometimes when I pull it into drive way, which is on a hill, get a lil binding in front end...I hope the fluid change will solve that.

Thanks again,

Did you ever figure out what the issues were?
