Where is the door jamb switch located on the 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado

I had the instrumentation tell me the right door was open when it is not. It happened while I was driving. It now happens when I shift in reverse, drive or whatever. I push the system monitor button and it shuts off the message and goes back to the date.

I at first thought it was the system monitor. I replaced it to find out it was not that. I now have an extra new one in the house.

I replaced the switch in the door I thought was the door jamb switch, and it was for the courtesy lights. I bought the door jamb switch, but I have no idea where it is located. I would to know where is the door jamb switch for the 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado.

Thank you....

I found it. It is in the Oldsmobile Toronado manual. It is inside the door latch in the door.

How did the repair go? I have the same issue. I also have the part required, but I have been hesitant to rip into the door....

I forgot I had that problem until this thread was pulled up. I would get the service manual for the Toronado and the repair.

Yeah, thanks...I do have the repair manual....but the issue hasn't been enough of a pain to fix it yet. I taped the old switch closed last year, so I don't get the warning, but I have not wanted to pull out the lock/latch mechanism...

Right now I'm tackling basic tasks like replacing brakes, broken motor mounts, repairing door trim mounts (I was pretty happy with this) and other mundane tasks. But yes, I do need to tackle that job. Thanks for the encouragement.

BTW, years ago my Dad had a 1976 Ninety Eight Regency. That car was awesome. It died with 498,000 miles. No joke. Actually, the head gasket blew, but my mom was ready for a new car and they got an Eldorado.
