They seem to be incredibly hard to find and go for ridiculous prices. [$200+]
Also, every compatibility list I have seen seems to include 94 to 98 or so. Never the less, I will keepo search for a 95 or newer HVAC control, set. I wonder if changing over the computer PROM from the 94 would help? Or make things worse?

Please investigate and think about the PCM and ECM and BCM. I cannot tell you if it would or not.. I suspect the body computer might come in play.

I suspect you might be right on the money here. I should grab the original body computer from the Regency. Might be worth a try.

Can the digital dash be installed without the digital climate control?

I suppose I could. My car originally came with digital climate control so the climate controls themselves are no different at all. The difference is the additional controls for the driver information center. They are completely separate from the IP itself.

I discovered as I pointed out in another thread the 1994 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight offered the digital cluster as an option. I did not know until my friend told me and I read the 1994 Oldsmobile brochure. That cluster works and the climate control has to as well. Did you get a bad climate control? I know the good ones are pricey, but I think it is worth it.

I did locate a 1995 digital dash in good shape but wasn't the 1995 98's and 88's part OBD1 and OBD2? Would this affect me swapping into a 1999 which is OBD2?

My 1995 Oldsmobile 98 was an early 1995. It is OBD I. I know 1996 was OBD II.

That I am not sure about.. I know that cluster and that climate control with the information center has to work. I wonder if it has something to do with the unit that the guy with the LSS bought. He got it out of a salvage yard. We do not know what happened in the previous car it came from. I suspect a newer unit may do the trick.
