Tank to Pump(on the block) fuel line replacement
Hello, I was attempting to fix a leaking fuel line on a friends 1984 cutlass supreme 3.8L v6 but after actually getting under it and seeing the line i realized the entire line needed replacing. Instead of keeping with the metal lines I am opting to go for a nylon or vinyl fuel line but being as this my first time dealing with the fuel delivery system(other than just replacing pump) I am unsure about what kind of fittings or adaptors I may need to accomplish the change. My plan is to run new lines from the pump (which is on the block) back and instead of dropping the tank I would rather leave a section of the metal line(which is in a lot better shape back there) from the tank out and hopefully tie my new nylon or vinyl line into the existing metal section coming from the tank. I am without doubt that I can do the job I just don't know enough about the fittings or adaptors needed to accomplish it and I am having all kinds of trouble finding anything on the web. Any advice will be greatly appreciated and if there is a kit out there for this type of job I would love to know where to find it. Thank you very much for your time.
