Angry 96 Achieva Engine Shuts Off While Driving

Hello, I am trying to fix my girlfriend's car and I've tried a few things with no positive results in fixing the problem.

Her car will shut off while driving and it's very random but seems to be more frequent lately. The car will shut off, the dash lights will flicker, the rpm gauge will go bonkers, and I can hear a "clicking" sound from somewhere in the engine bay or in the dash. It will start up after waiting 10 minutes or so without any attempt, which means if I dont attempt to start and wait 10 minutes it will start.

I did A LOT of research and saw it could be a security problem but when this issue happens there is no security light on the dash to warn me. And when it DOES happen EVERY warning light comes on and the gauges go crazy and I can't pump the gas as the engine is shut off of course.

I read it could be a ignition problem, security problem, etc. But, I replaced the ignition switch opposite side of the ignition cylinder. I got a used instrument cluster but I keep reading when people replaced that it would make the car not even start. I was thinking about getting a TDM (theft control module) but where would that be located in the car?

I was also suggested by my girlfriend's father to re-tap an area for the ground wire from the fuel pump.

I know this is a common problem as I have read it from multiple people online but no one seems to posts a solution.

Please help, I am mechanically inclined but this is a PITA!
