Milky Oil

Daughter has 1 92 achieva s. She checked the oil today and saw what she referred to as a milky texture to it....my first thought was a leaking head gasket or cracked head. There hasn't been any loss of anitfreeze or any white exhaust. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what else may cause this other than head problems?

Excessive condensation due to a lot of humidity on cold days.

An opening into the oil system that had water in it (say from splashing up into the oil fill cap).

Otherwise, you have a coolant/oil leak.

Safe bet it's not into a pressure galley, but into the return paths, if you don't have oil in the coolant.

This can occur if the vehicle is used for short trips (not allowing the engine to get up to temperature, which burns off the condensation of startup). This is more likely to happen in colder climates (in the Winter) when, say, people use their car to go to work (short distances), turn off, go back home, repeat.
