New Member, 1967 Toronado

Hi, All, New member, 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado, My father bought nearly new. has been in our family since before I was born, I am 47. Sadly he passed and I had always adored the car.

I am the proud new owner.

It had a restoration, Motor rebuilt, painted, soft top put on about 10 years ago. sadly it has sat outdoors in Alberta Canada weather since, started most years, barely driven. considering it is in okay shape, some rust at parts of it. small dent in front driver fender. Interior door panels are very poorly connected to the doors, door locks do not turn by the key very easily (scared of key breaking off in it) Interior needs a re do as it is badly sun aged.

Soft top likely needs to come off, and I won't re-install one. rust area's fixed and a re-paint.

I did get it started in Fall, drained as much gas as I could, and put in 91 octane for the winter. it now starts every time I turn the key even at - 10 C.

does not seem to be opening all the carb barrels or have the power it should but come spring will clean and service that.

My plan is mechanical repairs this year and drive as much as I can. going forward restoration once I know mechanical is in good shape. pretty car with no go is sorta useless .

I look forward to getting to know the members, and gaining knowledge and advice from experienced Owners.
