The 455 was NOT a stock engine in ANY non-Hurst/Olds factory Cutlass/442 until 1970. They WERE used in the big bodies (88, 98) starting in '68. All 400ci 442 engines were not the same as Cutlass/F-85 and "Turnpike Cruiser" 400s. The Olds 442 engines ('66, '67) were hand assembled, "factory blueprinted" if you will. The differences were forged instead of cast pistons, forged instead of cast crankshaft, 425 ci (Toronado) cam & lifters (bigger dia. lifters, better cam), selected harmonic balancers & flywheels, pistons & rods selected for equality of weight, better heads & valves & oil pumps, and better Q-jets.
No, the Hurst/Olds wasn't the baddest. It was a "luxury hi-performance" "executive hot rod" with lux accomodations (most with elec. windows, seats, AC, AM/FM, etc.)

Miss that Olds 442? Believe it or not, Kia may have something for you. The Kia Stinger is a large sport-oriented hatchback sedan in the mold of the Audi A7.
