'64 442 had a 330cid 442 was an option
'65 442 mix of 425 and 400, during the production year an advertising blitz annoucing 4= 400 4=4barrels 2= twin exaust
64 and 65 were options for any Cutlass and the F85
'66 '67 were option for the cutlass supreme only
'68 the 442 became it's ownline and for many years including '69 was equipped with the 400 cid.

The original question was what engine came in the 442. The later post mixes the 442s standard engine, and the 442 package being an option on the F-85 or having full model status.

As far as the 442 engine goes:

In '64 all 442s had a 330 engine.

From '65 to '69 the standard and only engine installed as OEM was the 400 CI. No other CI was available, but different performance packages and engine performance options were available in that time.

In '70 the 455 engine was standard.

In '71-72 the 350 was the standard 442 engine, the 455 was an option, and different performance packages and engine performance options were available.

Not from the factory. 1967 was the last year for the 330 engine.

Ya, me too.

Youth was wondrous fun at times though.

I had my first car, a 442, long before I had a drivers license.

I think the 1965 version of the 400 was a bit different then the years to follow. Just can't remember what exactly it was. This might apply to the 66-67 versions as well. It seems that some sort of change was made to the block or heads when Olds went model specific in 68 & 69. Use to know all this stuff by heart but I guess the years are catching up to me.
