Any thoughts on the 68 or 69 AMXs? My favorite for years & years.

Those AMXs were some very formidable cars for sure. So were the Javelins, and even the 360 Hornets.

The years and years best are the '68 - '70, the seventy being my fav.

Anyone familiar with the red white and blue road race cars?

Hey I dont know but you would have to beat me with a large stick and I still probably would not sway from either a Cutlass or Skylark. Im very partial to styling first and foremost, power can be built in anything. They all had their looks but Im a GM guy. I always liked the fastback Fairlanes and Chargers but something about the rear trunk deck of I believe a 67 or 68 Skylark gives me the tingles. People can have all the Chevelibus they want, if I didnt see another for the duration of my life I'd be happy. One thing for sure is all the manufacturers made some sweet looking mid size cars with performance options in the 60's and even 70's. For a rarer old ball I'd pick a Marlin for a fun project.

Not too much, I believe they won the road race class that was made for pony cars a few years. They did that paint scheme on the later Matador coupes too for racing and I am partial to the Matador coupe as it is the first car I drove and learned to drive on, many miles and other good times on those fully reclining split back bench seats..... if Dad only knew.

I have to say for a plain jane car without a sport suspension, standard tires and only a 304 that car handled great, would do perfectly neutural 4 wheel drifts, so predictable with neither end letting you down. It was even commented on in road tests. Most car guys hate them, not me.

If you have never driven an Olds Apprehender;you have missed the greatest
muscle car experience. Less weight, more power, no mufflers, two more doors,
no giveaway badges.
