How to's and FAQ's

How to's and FAQ's is a great forum but I think it can be better, after the first page and a half any link you click on opens a page that says its closed and gives you no info on whatever the topic was. Why have 4 pages for just 1.5 pages of info ?

There's a sticky that says

"This section is designed as a location for "How To" threads and "write up" threads. If you have one of those type threads to post so people can use if for future reference please feel free to post it here."
"This section is NOT a place to ask your question(s). If you have questions, please ask them in the model specific sections."

but it seems there are still a lot of how do I do this? Does someone know how to do this?, where can I get this? and how does this work? type of questions leaving you to look through a bunch of questions when you are looking for how to do something. I know there is a search option to make it easier to find things but I read how to's to learn how to do things, I read them weather it pertains to my car or not.

breaking it down to sub-forums maybe a good idea too for example Suspension how to's and FAQ's, Engine how to's and FAQ's and so on

I have been trying to clean that section up and move the questions to the appropriate sections. In order to help keep this section free from such threads, it might be a good idea to make it so that only admin/moderators can start threads but the members can reply. That way in order to have something added to the section it would have to be sent to the administration staff via PM then added if deemed appropriate.
