95 elite couple of issues

I have a 95 elite with the digital climate control. Problem is it won't turn off. Everything else works as it should just won't turn off. Also how do you know if the temp control on the passenger side is working? It doesn't seem to change the settings on the display. Just got it about 2 weeks ago, going through all the problems and making my parts list.

Replace the climate control. Be careful as the plug/socket in the back of the unit in the back change during the production run. Find out what your plug/socket looks like in the back and match it up with photos on Ebay to make sure you do not get one with a different socket/plug than your car. I learned that the hard way. There are plenty of them on Ebay. Watch the prices. Do not always go for the cheap part. The part can be found on Ninety Eight and Eighty Eight, LSS and Regency. I have a 1995 Oldsmobile 98. If you have digital gauges( instrumentation) like me, you will need to get the one with the four buttons on it and two knobs. Those four buttons control the information center. Get the GM part number off the back of the part. I hope this helps..

I have a similar problem with my 1995 Regency Elite. I have the digital dash and climate control. The AC/Heat control in the dash does not light up. The system does not respond to any of the controls. AC blows out of the defroster outlets only.
I have searched CarPart.com and found 6 different units, some with orange LEDs and some with yellow & green LEDs. I can't tell which one I need because nothing lights on mine. Also, probably when my car was detailed at one time someone used a strong cleaner on the door jambs and wiped off all the lettering on the two labels including the one that has the RPO codes. That leaves me like a blind man in the dark trying to find a control that will work on my car.

the display screen lights up in yellow and green. You pull the climate control out of the instrumentation, the part number is on the back.
