oil leak above the starter

Hi I have an oil leak that appears to be originating above the starter.. I have already replaced valve cover and oil pan gasket.. have there been any instances where the head gaskets leak oil on the 3.5 liter? thanks...

Does your car still start up? Check the coolant tank to make sure there isn't oil in the coolant and make sure there isn't coolant in the oil. The only engines to have a blown head gasket is a 3.8L V6 (Series 2 from 1998-1999 Intrigue, then they used the 3.5L LX5 V6 Codename: SouthStar from 1999-2002), so, it shouldn't be that. Check for cracks and crevasses behind the engine and replace the oil pan as well.

I have same situation on my 99 Intrigue and have replaced oil pan and valve cover gaskets, I have been told this is an upper oil pan leak it is ever so slight and has been going on for over 100K, I have 315K on the original motor now, so I left it alone.
