Airbag (SIR) removal question 1991 Toronado Trofeo

I removed my airbag from the steering wheel on my car, and there is a constant chime, a message on my information center, and a warning light on my dash.I am going to install an aftermarket steering wheel, w/o airbag. Does anyone know of a way to fool the computer into thinking that the airbag is still connected? I can cut the wire to stop the chime but I dont want the warning light on or a message on my information center.
