Smile New to Group. 1969 442-500. Need assistance

Good afternoon Group. I am an avid Oldsmobile and "car guy". I started by being "car wash kid" at the Olds dealership my Dad managed. I have owned a 1965 Olds Cutlass Supreme, and 1962 Olds Dynamic 88, a 1968 442, a 1969 Olds 442-500, a 1971 Olds Cutlass Supreme, a 1968 Olds Holiday 88, a 73' Olds Omega, and a 1967 Olds 442. I have always wanted a 1970 442 W series with the Hurst set-up/paint theme in white with the gold stripes. I used to wax a brand new one that resided on the dealerships showroom floor for many months. I worked though the various repair racks (brakes, tune-up, oil change service, etc.) as well as "detail dept" (home of SurLuster waxes and polishes), and also a stint in the body shop and paint shops.

My Dad was the Sales Manager at Pioneer Oldsmobile in North Hollywood, CA. He was there for 25 years. I worked there 1969-71'. My Dad had an offer of a "test mule" (one of 3) from the Arlington plant of a "442-500". It was offered with a blown (not working) TH400 auto trans. The engine was modified by Olds from a 455 cubic inch to a 500 cubic inch. It had an extremely large Rochester carburetor and dual inlets on the air cleaner. It was a 1969 model year. I bought it "AS-IS" from GM, though it was never previously registered. My Dad arranged it for $1,200. I had it a while, got 3 speeding tickets with it, and rebuilt the trans 2 or 3 times.

I had previously written to this group a few years back regarding this car, and two members responding of knowing of the 442-500 project. I would really appreciate hearing from any of you who know/knew about this car. Mine had SuperStock III wheels, and fender and rear deck badges that said "442-500". The front curved grille badge simply said "442". My Brother said that it had a 1050 CFM Rochester carb on it. All I know is I got lots of tickets. Had rallye pack instruments.

Thanks in advance!

Miss that Olds 442? Believe it or not, Kia may have something for you. The Kia Stinger is a large sport-oriented hatchback sedan in the mold of the Audi A7.
