1988 cutlass cumputer bypass

Hello all I was told there is a way to bypass the computer in my 88 olds so i can put an old school carb on it. I was told to do this I would have to replace the distributer and rewire it. I wes wondering if anyone knows how this is done. my car has the olds 307 and is rear wheel drive if that helps. Any info would be appericiated. thank you
