I actually had to take the headlights off, and pull them apart. It sucks because I am debating wether or not to do it again when I get my car back. In the report it says that they are replacing both of the front headlights.

Anyways, take off the rubber thing that goes all the way around the light. Then, with a small knife, slowly pry apart the lense from the metal part. It'll probably take 3 trips around the light before it is loose enough to pull apart. There is a really sticky black rubber like paste that holds it together. Then you just have to pop out the orange lense, and re-align the main lense before pushing it back on. The black adhesive stuff will seal itself back up. Then just put the rubber ring back on. I had mine like that for about 2 months before my accident, and never had a problem with leaking, or moisture getting in there.

Let me know if you get it done. I think from start to finish it took me about 45 minutes.

14 days until I get my car back!!!!!!!
They are even going to replace my pinstriping, funny ha?

UPDATE

Today I found out that the girl who hit me gave false insurance information. She really didnt have insurance at all.

So, my insurance company is going to pay for everyhing, and seek out payment from her individually. Chances are, since her car was only worth $1500, she doesn't have $10,500 laying around to re-pay my insurance company. They said it'll probably go to court, and then I'd have to testify, and could get a little bit of extra compensation out of it. I guess we'll see what happens.

I had a CT scan today, because I've been having really bad headaches, ear pain, dizziness, and neck pain. I'm doing well though, because my husband is taking care of me.

Thought I'd post a picture of my awesome rental car. Talk about pimpin!!!

No kidding, check out those wheel covers!! You ought to see if they'll let you keep the rental, instead of getting your Aurora back!

Sounds like this is going to be an expensive mistake for the other driver. I would suggest contacting the police dept. that took the report; make sure they know she was driving w/o insurance, so a ticket can be issued (if it hasn't already) and she gets off the road. Good luck!

I shouldn't complain about it too much, it is a car....And it's really not a bad car, it's just a piece of sh** compared to what I was driving before.

Speaking of which, I got a call from the claims adjuster at work yesterday, he said he was just in contact with the body shop, and things are coming along smoothly, and they are still expecting to be done Feb. 2nd. He stated "...as you know, this is a LARGER project..." whick I found funny.

UPDATE

I went and payed my car a visit at the shop on Wednesday. They have all of the damaged body pieces off, and ready for replacing. They had to re-weld parts of the frame that had bent.

He said it should be re-assembled and ready for painting today. Then, he said they'd do the interior and windshield on Monday. Then spend Tuesday and Wednesday replacing the radiator, and making sure everything else in the engine is okay. They are even going to re-do my pinstripes.

6 more days!!

Bent frame? You should see if they'll total it as it will never be the same.

I got my car back on Feb. 2nd like I was supposed to. Everything is going well, I am so happy to have my car back!

I'll post some updated pics the next time we have a nice enough day to be out taking pictures. You never know with Minnesota weather.

Now, to remove the orange lenses again or not??

Congrats on getting your car back. It looks as good as it did before. Regarding removing your orange lenses or not.........it's up to you. I like it but some people don't. I wouldn't do to my car though. :P
