Ok, last time this lil back lit gear shift indicator (red hash mark) light burnt out I had it fixed at the dealer as well as a host of other things.

Now, I know how to take apart the console...via the centre console storage bin. Any idea what the bulb number is for that gear shift indicator light. Its an annoyance and I want it to work <_<
 
How do you disassemble the center console to get to that piece? I would like to clean under the clear plastic piece, but don't want to fudge anything up. I might go ahead and replace that bulb while I'm at it to. Thanks.

Interesting development.

I managed to get everything off except the gear shifter :angry: but I managed to look down there and to my horror I found...

2 broken wires, 1 to the gear shift indicator light housing and 1 blue wire to the Power Trans button. Apparently the added length of wire the LAST time this broke was no long enough.

Back I go...I'm no electrician so I would rather a pro do it.

That being said, since I couldnt get the shifter off, any idea on how to do it?

It was mighty frustrating :(
 
Final update..

They added additional wire to the power trans button and shift indicator light, $0 dollars.

However if it breaks again, then I will hav to pay for a wiring harness. :angry:

oh! any detailing instructions on how to remove the shifter...geez that was a pain <_<
